Trying the preview
Still in development. Request access, then use the download button once approved.
You'll need a Google account and Android 6.0+ on ARM64. Sign in with your approved account and follow our setup email. Need x64 (x86_64)? Ask us.
Updating? Ask us before uninstalling — you could lose your routines and settings.
Set up background launch
Launch a saved routine or plan without opening the app screen. Control it from the notification.
You'll need Android 8+, a launcher that supports pinned shortcuts, and notifications enabled for RoutineRun.
- In the app, pick a routine or plan. Choose Pin to Home screen.
- Turn on Run in background. Leave it off to open the run screen.
- Want playback to start on tap? Enable Start automatically. It's off by default. Routine shortcuts also offer Repeat.
- Confirm, then tap your new shortcut. Swipe down for the notification and press Play if automatic start is off.
Use other apps or turn the screen off. Expand the notification for Play/Pause, Previous, Next, Repeat, and Close. Pause before skipping sections or closing; Repeat works during playback. Tap the notification text to open the run screen.
Already running something? The shortcut keeps that run. Pause and close it before switching routines.
Using music or video
Start a routine, then play your music or video. Try a short run to check cue volume — it varies by device and app. Adjust it in RoutineRun Settings or use vibration.
Android background timers
Timers stopping or alerts arriving late? Allow background activity and disable battery optimization for RoutineRun in your phone settings. Names vary by device.
Keep notifications enabled for background shortcuts and controls. To finish, pause and tap Close in the expanded notification.
Importing and sharing
Export routines, plans, or collections to share them. Other creators' collections are read-only. Copy a routine into your own plan to edit it.
Reporting a problem
Tell us when it happens. For timer or sound issues, mention your cues and whether the screen was off.
If we ask for logs, use the app's log sharing option. Check logs and screenshots for private details before sending.
